look carefully for road junctions and simply hold back until past

2 June 2026

I thought I had a clear, straight road to be able to overtake a few cars. Unfortunately, I missed a signposted turning to the right. And of course, as I got close the to front of the cars, one of them indicated to turn right. The brakes on a K75 weren't really up to the job of 2 up emergency braking, and we ended up sideswiping the turning car, which fortunately had then seen us and stopped turning, bounced up the kerb and under a sign.

Talk about getting away from it. Thanked the driver for having a last look so we didn't end up T-boning him.

No injuries, but obviously a bit of damage to both car and bike. Lesson - look carefully for road junctions and simply hold back until past, even if they are apparently clear, and the vehicles you intend overtaking are not indicating
